For auditing purposes a record is created every time an article is routed through the workflow process. You can view the list of all user-initiated and system actions in the workflow history. The Workflow history captures actions not limited to, submitting a post into a workflow, completing an assignment, reassigning a task etc. The process history also captures the comments added by the user during sign off on a particular task.
While most users can view the workflow history (ow_view_workflow_history), some users can have elevated access to do certain actions on the process/workflow history.
1. ow_delete_workflow_history – users with this capability can delete the process/workflow history.
2. ow_download_workflow_history – users with this capability can download process/workflow history.

The process history also allows you to view workflow history data for a certain post/page. This is handy when you are trying to analyze workflow actions on a particular post/page.
